Some people think that it is best to live in a horizontal city while others think of a vertical city. Discuss both view and give your opinion.
Today, the concern of whether to live in metropolis or in the countryside still remains controversial. Although I accept that city life could be beneficial for a number of people, I still advocate the idea of having country life.
On the one hand, it is quite apparent that big cities offer people a more convenient way of life. The first reason is that metropolitan citizens could enjoy rich amenities which are vital for life fulfillment. Train system or taxi service offers numerous choices of transportation, especially for people who are occupied with their tight schedule. Additionally, advanced health care service plays a crucial role to increase life expectancy. For example, an individual life would be in danger if ambulance car does not appear in time, which is a circumstance that hardly exists in a metropolis.
On the other hand, I believe that people should move to the countryside for numerous reasons. At the first place, healthy environment in a horizontal city has a beneficial impact on residents’ health. By enjoying pure atmosphere, people are less likely to suffer from respiratory diseases such as lung cancer. Otherwise, cleaner sources of water as well as fresher food also mitigate sanitation problems. In addition, only a small number of motorized vehicles in circulation allow inhabitants to avoid traffic congestion or fatal accidents. This also reduces the noise pollution level and, therefore, offers people a more peaceful life.
In conclusion, life in a horizontal city could be tempting, I would still argue that spending life in a vertical city is a superior choice.
